After two years of no health insurance...

I FINALLY HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE!

I did not think this day will come.
28th-Jun-2009 08:15 pm - hey everyone!
gaga chick
Its been a while! Well first thing first: So far life has been a bit of a struggle.

I have massive gum pain, and I don't have any health insurance. The good thing is though that I applied for health insurance last Tuesday and they said it will take about 30 days to get a reply. I really hope I get it, because I need a lot of dental work done. I need:

1) Regular cleaning
2) Replace two porcelain seals with another one, because the teeth is rotting inside (at a cost to me of $1,000 per tooth, WITH insurance)
3) 1 wisdom tooth removed (cause of current massive gum pain)
4) Cavities fix-up (I may have around 4 cavities, with tartar buildup-yuck!)

I haven't had health insurance in like 2 years. I'm really hoping I can (finally) get the health insurance that I need, so I fix my teeth! *crossing fingers*

Employment:

Well I graduated from NYU, and I got to go to the May graduation. Hilary Clinton was the speaker and she received a honorary degree. From January to May, I took no classes and spent most of the time adding books to Amazon.com or Bonanzle.com and applying for jobs on and off. I made a lot of bad mistakes during the interview process and I can admit that my resume is less than stellar.

Finally my lucked started to turn around, and I got accepted into two temp. agencies late may. One hired me for a week at Alliance Bernstein for their annual investors meeting. The other one hired me for a week and a half at a real estate management firm called Taconic Management in the Bronx. So far, my earnings at a job this entire year has been less than $1,000 lulz.

My books business has been keeping me busy, and it was the only way I was justifying seeing John every Saturday. But after too many refunds, Amazon.com pull the plug on me. I sent an appeal and I'm waiting for a final reply. I heard no reply means a rejection, and so far none

I will start to work tomorrow in my dad's office for really horrible pay. Its in Connecticut, a over 3 hours daily commute at 500 dollars a week as a "private contractors" (this means that my taxes are not taken out, so I have to pay my own taxes and my employers' taxes and because it is a out of state job, I have to report to both NY and CT, so after everything, I'm earning about 9 dollars a hour with no overtime pay, regardless of how many hours I do) I have to do it though because 1) my dad is forcing me 2) the business is tanking. The business got recently sold to someone else, and they want profits fast.

So I'm in a bind, because if the business does tank, I will be pretty much homeless. My "contract" is til August. We shall see what happens.

All in all I can't say my bachelors in Dramatic Literature, Theater History and Cinema studies from NYU has helped me out at all. I want to blame the economy but part of me says its also my fault (esp. with Amazon.com pulling the plug on me).

John is making around 60k a year, I really have no one to blame but myself.

My Apartment:

We were having a pretty bad mice problem. They ate into my $120 Bloomingdales bags, broke into our cereal bags and ate our cereal, ruin clothes, etc. So we did a massive clean-up. We started to throw away massive amount of stuff out, with me doing lots of paper recycling, and selling what was sell-able. We have around 12 HUGE boxes of stuff that needs to be sold/recycled/thrown out. And these boxes are HUGE. They cover 1/3 of my livingroom, parents' room. Unfortunately, we keep trying everything to get rid of the roddent problem, and while their numbers are down completely, they are not vanquished yet. Thank god we dont have any roaches. I think it comes form the dirty apartment that shares our kitchen wall, since both mice and the occasional roach problem comes from there. I have the urge to make a complain.

My Student Loans:
I GOT ALL MY STUDENT LOANS ($400 left) PAID! It was like 15 or 16K in loans, and I paid it off. Not my parents, not my uncles, NOBODY, it was me! I paid it off with all the savings and book selling I been doing over the years. Too bad the book selling business is almost over.

I guess I have finally graduated into the real world of hard knocks.

I was nudged by [info]hollywood recently to post something and I guess its been a long time. I haven't been to livejournal in ages, and sadly, I have left my graphics community, [info]emmysdream to rot. I don't think I will be going back, as I hate the name Emmy in it, and wish I had left it as 'massiel' (but meh, maybe in time). I spent hours online and I don't even know where the hours go. Being more productive usually means more energy being spent, and I'm always tired with fatigue. I have anemia (non iron-non b12-based, doctors don't know what), low blood pressure, and high cholesterol. I have no idea how can a vegetarian get all that. My body max index says I'm on the upper ranges of normal weight, so I guess losing a few pounds will not hurt me. My metabolism is so slow though! insane.

I'm taking this semester:
Theater History II (restoration, and Romanticism and post-Romanticism plays)
Greek Drama (Greek Mythology and its Performance texts)
Anime (exactly what it says)
Producing Essentials (I have to pitch a movie by the end of the semester)

I should be graduating this semester, but I took a semester off Sophomore year. I apply to go Study Abroad for my last semester as I have always wanted to go abroad, and I'm too embarrassed to stay at NYU one more semester than I should be. I applied to Madrid, Spain and got in. So for September to December, I will be in Spain.

Things are quite boring. I still work at my computer job, and my problems with my roommate were recently resolved. I live with 5 other girls, and they are all Sophmores, so its very hard to connect with them. I leave every weekend to see my dog, so I guess that doesn't help either.

I went to see Spice Girls, the Little Mermaid on Broadway, Coheed and Cambria, and Linkin Park (with a special appearance from Jay-Z) recently. They were all very fun shows. I spent so much on merchandise that its insane ($50 on just 1 Spice Girls Tshirt!) I have yet to wear it since wearing it is a bit embarrassing. I saw Be Kind, Rewind in theaters recently. I think Jack Black is very talented.

loves.

I can no longer write.

I haven't written a piece of worthy good writing in weeks. and I experience a block when ever I try to write anything longer than a paragraph. This applies to my academic work since I have stop writing for my own personal enjoyment last year.

Its like whenever I try to think of what to say or put down, I'm at lost for words. To be honest, I can no longer think deep thoughts anymore. I'm only able to scratch the surface. It took a long time to find the words to write this.

I don't know what's wrong with me.

someday i'll grow a forest - Kurt Halsey
hello everyone.

Its been a while. 4 months, I believe. Anyways, I feel like writing again, but I'll try to keep it short. I'm very sore physically-last night I got into a huge fight with my brother, and today I can't lift my arms from the pain. I also have a fever and a sore throat. I hope I get better soon. I cried last night a lot out of frustration. Everytime I get hit in the face, I always suffer some form of an emotional breakdown because of it. Most of my tears were out of frustation of being stagnant. Its only human to be constantly yearning for more though. School is ending in 5 weeks. I'm getting an A- in Foundations of Acting, but low grades on everything else. I really must give it my all right now if I expect to even finish the semester decently. A fellow employee gave me a harsh wake-up call cause he says I been slacking off.

I saw HBO presents: Bob Saget (Mr. Tanner on Full House) last friday. Most of his jokes were moderately funny (the true funny ones were the full house associated ones, such as him having sex with Kibbler, an underage teenager, and how Stamos was gay lol). He cursed a lot but it was obvious that it was for shock value. I'm almost finishing up Nip/Tuck season 2 (its a great series!) and I love it. After the HBO show, I ate at Dojo's (Tomato barley soup and then pulled an all nighter at a friend's house just talking, being on the internet at 4chan.org (first time I was at the site, a very stupid but entertaining website), or kicking my friend's ass at Pokemon: Puzzle League on N64. My friend is not allowed to have guest overs, and when his grandmother came that morning, I was afraid I would have been caught. Luckly she left to do laundry, and I rushed out like a scared maniac.

Nothing truly eventful happened today except that I like paying family bills with my credit card cause it helps me to accumulate points. I only have about 6,000 points though.

Also I never realize how many homeless cats there are, its like they only come out at night.
